That Monday morning feeling

You long to do it all over again…you’ve had an amazing weekend, sadly next weekend feels like a lifetime away…then that Monday morning feeling descends.

If I didn’t know it was Monday, I would know it was anyway…there’s something different about the way Monday’s feel…a sense of time passing…a mind filled with questions…few answers.

As the world makes its way back to work…the economic system grinds slowly to life.

No matter how much we say we like our jobs…if we didn’t have to do them, most of us would be making other plans…

…what would you do with your time? “Let me count the ways…”

A means to an end…

For many, work is a means to an end…for the few, it’s a contribution to help further the cause of woman/mankind.

Companies are good at keeping expenses to a minimum…and salaries are an expense…say no more…

That’s where the question of fairness comes in…the problem with fairness is…it means different things to different people…at different times…

Camaraderie…

There is a brighter side…jobs provide camaraderie…the social aspect of working as a team…

Most of us have to work for a living…we have two choices…work for someone else, or work for ourselves.

There are pros and cons to both…I prefer working for myself because it puts me in the driving seat…I get out of it, what I put in.

That being said, all business is subject to market trends…you can’t control them, anticipate them…see into the proverbial crystal ball.

Hedging your bets…

Jobs are scarce, and that will amplify over time as we get closer to an economy driven more and more by technology.

Bottom line…its up to us to look out for ourselves, and our families…no one else will…

Is it time to hedge your bets?

…to look more closely at the stories behind the new buzzwords in the media…working remotely, side project, side gig, side hustle?
