Countdown to rethinking time?

I’m running late…I overslept…is that the time already? Why is the bus late…the train, the plane…everything’s late.

The boss…he/she needs it now, he/she is up against a deadline…we’re falling behind…clocks everywhere…time flying…

Time holds the world together…it’s different for each of us…it can drag, or it can fly.

It has done so since someone with time on their hand noticed the sun rises, and the sun sets…what happened in between became an opportunity to conjure up this thing called…time.

Who invented the clock?

Time only exists because we have clocks…without them we wouldn’t be aware of it…man made the invisible visible by inventing the clock, and we believe in it.

Without time we wouldn’t have birthdays…or anniversaries…we’d never be too young, or too old…the phrase ‘act your age’ would be redundant.

Cars wouldn’t have speedometers…a lot of sport wouldn’t be competitive…the complicated wouldn’t be time consuming…labour saving would be a curiosity…

Time is not a thing…

Time is abstract…it’s not a thing…or an event. It’s an obsession with sensation. Our belief in it is unshakeable…beyond reproach.

If we didn’t have time the world as we know it, wouldn’t exist…imagine a world drifting towards timelessness…there’d be nothing but chaos and confusion.

But…would it be chaos? Nature manages to get by without it...the plants, the trees, the animals…it all flows together in harmony with an endless amount of…just is…not a clock in sight…only the sun and the moon.

Time to rethink time…

If nature can survive without it, man could too, surely…it would be a world that feels like the feeling we get when we’re on vacation…only, never ending…

Is it time to rethink time and its place in the time we live in?

With time on my hands…an overactive pre-frontal cortex…the concept of time raises a question in my mind.

In a world without time…what would we call the space between sunrise and sunset?

That is...if we didn't know there was a yesterday or a tomorrow…

Time will tell…
